The First Sin and God's Promise
Genesis 3:1-24 Old Testament PrincipleHope

Sin broke God's good world, but God came looking for His people and promised a Rescuer.

Memory verse
“But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8 BSB
Christ Connection · Promise
Right after the first sin, God promised that a child of the woman would crush the serpent's head, though His heel would be struck. Jesus is that promised Rescuer. He was wounded on the cross, and by it He defeated sin, Satan and death.
Galatians 4:4-5; Romans 16:20; Hebrews 2:14; 1 John 3:8
The Big Story · Fall
This is where the Bible's big story breaks: people turned from God, and sin broke everything. But on the same day, God promised a Rescuer, and the rest of the Bible is the story of God keeping that promise.

Bible story 6 min
God made a beautiful garden called Eden. Adam and Eve lived there with God. They could eat fruit from every tree but one. God said, "Don't eat from that one tree. If you do, you will die."
One day a crafty serpent came to Eve.
SerpentDid God really say you can't eat from any tree?
The rest of the story, discussion questions, songs, Live It and prayer are for members.
Dasch Digs Up: Did You Know?
The first question in the whole Bible is asked by the serpent – "Did God really say…?" It was a trick to make Eve doubt God.
