About the lessons
What is Teach Them Jesus?
Teach Them Jesus is a library of printable Bible lessons for kids from preschool through 6th grade, for church Bible classes, Sunday school, children’s ministry and homeschool families. Every lesson has a Teacher Guide and four age-group versions of the same Bible story, a Godly principle, a Christ Connection that shows how the story points to Jesus, and a printable activity sheet for each age.
What ages are the lessons for?
Preschool (ages 3–5), Kindergarten–2nd grade, 3rd–4th grade, and 5th–6th grade. Every lesson has all four versions plus a Teacher Guide.
How long is a lesson?
Each lesson includes a 45-minute class plan. At home, you can teach it in one sitting or spread it across a few days.
Do I need special supplies?
No. Activities use paper, crayons, pencils, tape, and other things you likely have. No screens or kits. Each Teacher Guide lists exactly what to gather.
What’s on the activity sheets?
Each age gets a one-page activity sheet with the memory verse and a mix of puzzles and activities, such as word searches, crosswords, mazes, secret codes, story order, quizzes, and coloring, plus fun facts from Dasch. Different lessons get different activities. The back is a take-home page for families. Preschool gets a coloring page. Answers are in the Teacher Guide.
What is Hidden in Plain Sight?
Every lesson includes one Hidden in Plain Sight insight: a detail in the Bible text that most readers miss and that changes how you see the story. For example, in the Tower of Babel the builders wanted a tower to reach heaven, but the next verse says the LORD came down to see it. Each age gets its own version, and it always points to God.
Who are Ellie, Theo and Dasch?
They’re the three characters who guide kids through each lesson. Ellie, a curious 10-year-old, asks the Think It Through questions. Her little brother Theo shows how the story fits real life. Their dog Dasch digs up surprising Did You Know facts.
How do the lessons point to Jesus?
Every lesson that isn’t directly about Jesus has a Christ Connection, such as a promise, a picture, or a way Jesus is the better King or Rescuer. We use the connections the New Testament itself makes, and we tell each Old Testament story on its own terms first.
Can I use it for Sunday school or children’s church?
Yes. Lessons are written for church Bible classes with a 45-minute class plan, and every class from preschool to 6th grade studies the same passage. Small churches can teach one mixed-age class and give each child the activity sheet for their age. More for churches.
Does it work for homeschooling kids of different ages?
Yes. Tell the Bible story once, then give each child the version and activity sheet for their age. One membership covers your whole family. More for homeschool families.
Do I have to teach the lessons in order?
No. You can follow the year plan in order, or pick lessons by Bible book, principle, or passage from the library.
Which Bible translation do you use?
Stories are retold in kids’ own words. Memory verses are quoted from the Berean Standard Bible (BSB). Every passage is cited, so you can teach from any translation you like.
Is the curriculum tied to a denomination?
No. We teach historic, mainstream Christianity without a denominational label. You can read our statement of faith and teaching approach.
How many lessons are there?
We’re building a full year of 52 lessons, with more added over time. Members get every new lesson as it’s published.
Do the lessons talk about baptism?
Yes, where the Bible passage naturally raises it, such as Noah (1 Peter 3:20-21), Jesus’ baptism, and Pentecost. We present it as good news and part of responding to Jesus. We never pressure a child to make a decision in class; for younger kids, we encourage them to talk with their parents.
Membership and downloads
What’s the difference between the plans?
Both plans let you read every lesson online. The yearly plan includes unlimited PDF downloads. The monthly plan includes a set number of lesson downloads each month. See Pricing.
Does downloading the activity sheet count as another download?
No. On the monthly plan, one download is one whole lesson. The first file you download from a lesson unlocks everything in it: the Teacher Guide, all four age versions, and every activity sheet and take-home page, free to download again anytime.
Can I try a lesson before joining?
Yes. Every lesson page shows a free preview, and you can try a free lesson right now.
