Teach Them Jesus teaches historic, mainstream Christianity without a denominational label. These convictions shape every lesson we write.
Statement of faith
- The Bible is God’s Word. It is true, trustworthy, and the final authority for faith and life. Its people and events are real history.
- God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. One God in three persons.
- God made everything good. Every person is made in God’s image and has dignity and worth.
- Sin is real and breaks everything. All people sin and need rescue.
- Jesus is fully God and fully man. He lived without sin, died for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and is coming again.
- Salvation is by God’s grace through faith. We cannot earn it. Faith responds in repentance, confession, baptism, and a changed life.
- The church is Jesus’ family. Christians belong to one another and grow together.
- The Holy Spirit lives in believers. He helps us grow, obey, and become more like Jesus.
- God is restoring all things. History is headed toward a new creation with Jesus as King.
How we teach
Grace before obedience
Every lesson shows what God has done before it asks what we should do. We don’t motivate kids mainly by guilt, shame, or fear. God’s holiness is real, and His love is the starting point.
God is the hero of every story
“Be brave like David” isn’t the message. “God fought for His people, and Jesus fights for us” is. Each lesson teaches a Godly principle, like trust, courage, or compassion, and roots it in who God is.
Christ in all Scripture
Jesus said the Scriptures testify about Him (Luke 24:27; John 5:39). Every lesson that isn’t directly about Jesus includes a Christ Connection: a promise, a picture, a need only He meets, or how the story shows God’s love and plan. We tell each story on its own terms first, then connect it to Jesus.
The Bible is one true story
Every lesson shows where it fits in the Bible’s big story: Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration. For younger kids: God made it. We broke it. Jesus fixes it. Jesus will make it all new.
Faithful to the text
We retell Bible stories in kids’ own words without adding events or softening what happened beyond age-appropriate wording. Imagined details are marked with words like “maybe.” Memory verses are quoted from the Berean Standard Bible, and every reference is cited so teachers can use any translation they like.
Responding to Jesus
We teach the full response to the gospel gladly and clearly: believe in Jesus, turn from sin, confess Him as Lord, be baptized into Christ, and follow Him for life (Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3–4; Romans 10:9–10). We never pressure a child to make a decision in class; younger children are encouraged to talk with their parents.
