Teach Them Jesus with Nature

Explore God's world, and meet the God who made it.

Jesus taught with seeds, birds, vines and lilies, and kids already love to dig, collect and explore. In these lessons kids head outside for the hook, plant something real, run a hands-on science lab, and take home something to grow with their family. Every lesson is still a full Teach Them Jesus lesson, with a Teacher Guide, four age versions and printables, and every story still points to Jesus.

Children planting seeds in a garden with a Bible open on the grass

How every lesson works

  1. Head outside

Open with a seed hunt or nature walk that gets kids looking closely at what God made.

  2. Grow the story

Tell the Bible story with real seeds, soil and leaves in kids' hands.

  3. Dig into the science

A hands-on lab in every lesson shows something true about God from His creation.

  4. Grow it at home

Kids take home something to plant and a grow journal to fill in with their family.

Questions

Do I need a garden or a yard?

No. Everything grows in a clear cup on a sunny windowsill. If you have a yard, a park or a church lawn nearby, the nature walks are even better, and each lesson has an indoor option.

What supplies do I need?

Cheap, common things like dry beans from the grocery store, clear cups, potting soil and paper bags. Each lesson's Grow Guide and Teacher Guide list exactly what to gather and when to start.

Is this a separate curriculum?

No. Every nature lesson is a full Teach Them Jesus lesson with a Teacher Guide, Preschool, K–2nd, 3rd–4th and 5th–6th versions, and printable activity sheets. Nature and gardening are woven through the hook, the story, the hands-on lab and the take-home.

Is it included in my membership?

Yes. Every "Teach Them Jesus with…" collection is included in every membership at no extra cost. On the monthly plan, each lesson you download counts toward your monthly downloads.

Does the science replace the Bible?

No. Kids hear the story from Scripture, and older kids open their Bibles and study the passage. The science shows how the God of the Bible made His world, and it helps kids remember what the story means.

What if it's winter?

Seeds sprout indoors any time of year, and every nature walk has an indoor version, like a seed tray of birdseed, popcorn kernels and dry beans.
