Christ Connection · God’s character
The church prayed, and God rescued Peter in Passover week, the same way He once rescued Israel. Jesus Himself "always lives to intercede" for His people (Hebrews 7:25), so we never pray alone. God is able to do "immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine" (Ephesians 3:20).
Acts 12:5-11; Hebrews 7:25; Ephesians 3:20
The Big Story · Redemption
God has always rescued His people, from Egypt to the prison in Jerusalem. He hears their prayers, and one day He will set every captive free forever.

Ask, "What's the hardest thing to get out of?" Let kids guess (a locked room, a knot). Say, "Today Peter is locked up with chains and soldiers. The only thing his friends can do is pray. Is that enough?"

But the church prayed for Peter. They prayed and prayed to God.
The night before Peter's trial, he was sleeping. He was chained between two soldiers. More guards stood at the door.
