Daniel 6:1-28 Old Testament PrinciplePrayer

Old Daniel calmly kneeling in the lions' den at night as a shining angel stands near and the lions lie down peacefully.

Christ Connection · Picture

Daniel was condemned though he had done nothing wrong, put in a pit sealed with a stone, and found alive at dawn. Jesus, the truly innocent One, was laid in a tomb sealed with a stone, and at dawn on the third day it was empty. Daniel was kept from death; Jesus went through death and conquered it.

The Big Story · Redemption

Even far from home in Babylon, God kept His people and showed every nation that His kingdom will never end. Jesus is the King of that everlasting kingdom, who rose from the sealed tomb.

Bible story 6 min

Daniel worked for King Darius. He was a good, honest worker. The king liked him a lot.

Some other leaders were jealous. They tried to find something bad about Daniel, but they could not. So they made a plan. They got the king to sign a new law. "For 30 days, no one can pray to anyone but the king. If they do, they will be thrown to the lions!"

Daniel heard about the law. He went home and knelt by his window. He prayed and thanked God, just like he always did, three times a day.
