The Church Begins · Lesson 3
Peter and John Heal a Man
Acts 3:1-4:31; Isaiah 35:5-6 New Testament PrincipleCourage

Peter and John healed a man who couldn't walk, in the name of Jesus. When leaders told them to stop talking about Jesus, they bravely said, "We cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard."
Because we know Jesus and His Spirit is with us, we can have courage to keep telling about Him, even when it's hard.

Peter made it clear: the man was healed by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, "whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead" (4:10). "Salvation exists in no one else" (4:12). The leaders saw the apostles' courage and knew they had been with Jesus.

Bible story 6 min
Peter and John went to God's house to pray. A man sat by the gate. He could not walk. He had never walked in his whole life! People carried him there each day to beg.
The man asked Peter and John for money. Peter looked at him. "Look at us!" he said. The man looked up.
Peter said, "I don't have silver or gold. But what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus, get up and walk!" Peter took his hand and helped him up.
