Christ Connection · Picture
Boaz was a close relative who could redeem, or buy back, Naomi's land and rescue Ruth's family. Jesus became our relative by becoming human, and He redeemed us, not with money but with His own life. Ruth, a foreigner welcomed into God's people, became part of Jesus' family line.
Matthew 1:5; Galatians 4:4-5; Hebrews 2:14-17
The Big Story · Redemption
Through a widow's sorrow and a foreigner's faithfulness, God quietly prepared the family of King David, and of Jesus, the Redeemer who welcomes people from every nation.

Bible story 6 min
There was no food in Bethlehem. So Naomi and her family moved far away to Moab. Then Naomi's husband died. Her two sons died too. Naomi was very sad.
Naomi decided to go home. Her son's wife Ruth said, "I will go with you. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God." Ruth wanted to follow the true God.
In Bethlehem, Ruth and Naomi needed food. Ruth went to a field to pick up grain the workers left behind. The field belonged to Boaz, a man from Naomi's family.
