Christ Connection · Picture

Naaman couldn't buy his healing with silver and gold. He received it as a free gift when he humbly trusted God's word. Jesus pointed to Naaman as an outsider who received God's grace. Salvation in Jesus works the same way: it is a gift we receive, not something we earn.

The Big Story · Redemption

Bible story 6 min

Naaman was the boss of a big army. He was strong and rich. But he had a bad skin sickness. No one could make him well.

A girl from Israel worked at his house. She had been taken far from home. But she said, "God's prophet in Israel could make my master well!"

So Naaman went. He took lots of silver and gold to pay. He stopped at the house of Elisha, God's prophet. But Elisha did not even come out! He sent a helper to say, "Go wash in the Jordan River seven times."
