Christ Connection · Picture

God brought His people out of slavery by leading them through the waters, while the enemy that chased them was defeated. Paul says Israel was "baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea." Jesus defeated sin and death for us, and in baptism believers pass through the water with Him into new life.

God's people had left Egypt. God led them with a tall cloud by day and fire at night. They came to the edge of a big sea.

Then Pharaoh changed his mind. "Bring them back!" he shouted. He chased them with hundreds of chariots.
