Exodus 11:1-12:42 Old Testament PrincipleFaith

A Hebrew father brushing the lamb's blood on the doorframe of his home at dusk while his family watches from inside.

God protected every home marked by the lamb's blood, and Jesus is our Passover Lamb whose death keeps us safe.

Christ Connection · Picture

On the night of the Passover, a spotless lamb died, and every home under its blood was safe. Paul says, "Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed" (1 Corinthians 5:7). Jesus died at Passover time, and everyone who trusts Him is safe from judgment because of His blood.

The Big Story · Redemption

God rescued His people from slavery in Egypt through the blood of a lamb. It's the Old Testament's great picture of the rescue God would bring through Jesus, the Lamb of God, who frees us from sin and death.

Bible story 6 min

Moses told Pharaoh, "God says, let My people go!" But Pharaoh would not listen. God sent nine plagues, terrible troubles, on Egypt. Each time, Pharaoh still said no.

Then God said, "One more plague is coming. It will be a very sad night in Egypt. But I will keep My people safe."

God told each family what to do. "Take a perfect lamb. Put its blood on the sides and top of your door. Eat a meal with your sandals on, ready to go. When I see the blood, I will pass over you."
