Noah and the Flood: Faith
Genesis 6:9-9:17; Hebrews 11:7; 1 Peter 3:20-21 Old Testament PrincipleFaith

God warned Noah about a flood no one could see yet. Noah believed God and built the ark just as God said, and God kept him and his family safe inside. Faith means trusting what God says before we see it.
God always tells the truth and keeps His promises, so we can believe what He says even before we see it.

Christ Connection · Picture
Peter says the eight people in the ark "were saved through water," and that this pictures the baptism that saves us "through the resurrection of Jesus Christ" (1 Peter 3:20-21). The ark was God's one way of rescue through the flood. Jesus is God's rescue through sin and death, and everyone who is in Him is safe.
1 Peter 3:20-21; Matthew 24:37-39
The Big Story · Fall
Sin had broken God's good world so badly that the earth was full of violence. But God made a way of rescue through the flood, a picture of the rescue He would one day give through Jesus.

Hand each child 6 bricks. Say, "Build something I haven't told you about yet!" Let them guess for a moment, then say, "That's hard, isn't it? Today God told Noah to build something for a day nobody had ever seen. Noah had to believe God first."
Bible story 6 min
The world was full of people doing wrong. But Noah walked with God.
God said, "A big flood is coming. Build an ark." God told Noah how long, how wide and how tall to make it.
Noah had never seen a flood like that. No one had. But Noah believed God. He did everything God said.
