One Voice: The Temple Choir and the Glory Cloud
2 Chronicles 5:1-14; 2 Chronicles 7:1-3; 1 Kings 8:10-11; John 1:14 Old Testament PrincipleWorship

When King Solomon's temple was finished, 120 trumpeters and a huge choir praised God together "with one voice," singing, "He is good; His love endures forever." Then God's glory filled the temple like a cloud. God loves to be with His people, and we worship Him together because He is good.
God is good and His love lasts forever, and He chooses to live with His people. Because He is so good and so near, we worship Him together with one voice.

Christ Connection · Picture
The temple was where God's glory lived among His people. Jesus is the true temple: "The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory" (John 1:14), and He called His own body the temple (John 2:21). Now, through Jesus, God's Spirit lives in His people (1 Corinthians 3:16), and we glorify God "with one mind and one voice" (Romans 15:6).
John 1:14; John 2:19-21; 1 Corinthians 3:16; Romans 15:6
The Big Story · Redemption
God made people to live with Him, and sin pushed us away. God came to live among His people in the temple, then in Jesus, and now by His Spirit in His church, until the day when the whole new creation is filled with His glory.

Ask everyone to say their name out loud at the same time. Laugh about the jumble! Then say, "Now let's all say the same thing, together, like one voice: 'God is good!'" Ask, "Which one sounded better?" Say, "Today we'll hear about a choir that sang with one voice, and what God did next."
Bible story 6 min
King Solomon built a house for God in Jerusalem. It was called the temple. It took seven long years to build.
When it was done, everyone came for a big party. The priests carried the ark of the covenant into the temple. The ark was a special gold box. It stood for God being with His people.
Then the music began. A huge choir stood in fine white clothes. They played cymbals, harps and lyres. And 120 priests blew trumpets!
